Poker leagues around the world

The popularity of Poker can be attributed to the existence of global ligapoker. Poker has become more and more popular, even among those who previously ignored it. This league has been attracting a large number of players every year, which has also led to a large following among the players.

WPT (World Poker Tour)

There are many series of poker tournaments in the world, including the World Series of Poker, or WPT, and its T.V broadcast contains action from the final tables of each tournament. A season of ten tournaments was held at Bellagio in Las Vegas during the first season of WPT in 2003. In its various poker tournaments conducted around the world, the WPT offers mostly Limit Texas Holdem games.

(WSOP) World Series of Poker

In 1969, Tom Moore, a poker enthusiast from Reno, organized a mini poker tournament called “Texas Gambling Reunion”. The tournament was won by Crandell Addington, one of the best poker players in the world. Although this event was the groundwork for the first World Series of Poker, the first edition was not held until the Horseshoe casino in Las Vegas until 1970. A casino owner and poker enthusiast, Benny Binion organized the event. Texas Holdem, 5 card stud, 7 card stud, Razz, etc. were some of the cash games played at the first World Series of Poker. Among the first World Champions of Poker, Johnny Moss won the silver cup.

Poker leagues for amateurs (APL)

World Poker Tour (WPT) owns and runs the Amateur Poker League (APL). WPTAPL is a popular term for it. There are live tournaments in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, and other cities around the world that APL hosts.

CPL (Champions Poker League)

It is the premier pub poker competition in the United Kingdom, established in July 2006. The Champions Poker League has become one of the largest pub poker leagues in Britain during the last five years, with thousands of clubs and pubs participating in the tournaments all year round. Both amateur and professional players play in the tournaments.

(EPL) Epic Poker League

A series of 10 Elite Poker Tournaments was first organized by the Epic Poker League in 2011 at Las Vegas’ Palms Casino Resort. An EPL is different from other poker tournaments in that it is only open to poker players that have achieved certain qualifications, such as earning at least $1 million in lifetime earnings, multiple title wins, or cash prizes in international tournaments.

APL (Asia Poker League) by PokerStars

In the Asia Poker League (APL), players of poker in Asia fight it out through online tournaments and win cash without losing their hard-earned dollars. PokerStars hosts the event. This league features all the major poker variants, such as Omaha, 5 Card Draw, and Texas Holdem.

NPL (Nuts Poker League)

A premier poker league based in the UK is the Nuts Poker League (NPL). Pub poker leagues are a form of poker that takes place in pubs in small and large venues throughout the UK and runs No-Limit Texas Holdem tournaments.

Europe Poker Tour (EPT)

It is the EPT and is sponsored and owned by PokerStars. This poker tournament series consists mostly of No-Limit Texas Holdem. In 2004, the inaugural European Poker Tour began, which is also televised in many European countries.
